Past fellow Josh Freeman (East Asian Studies, Academia Sinica) translates a memoir by Uyghur poet Tahir Hamut Izgil. “Waiting to Be Arrested at Night” is Izgil's account of one of the world’s most urgent humanitarian crises and a harrowing tale of his escape from genocide in China. The memoir is to be translated into fourteen languages.
